The Discreet Alternative
Clear Braces
Clear braces, also known as ceramic braces, offer a discreet alternative to traditional metal braces while providing the same reliable and effective orthodontic correction. Crafted from translucent or tooth-colored materials, ceramic braces blend seamlessly with the natural color of your teeth, making them a popular choice for individuals seeking a more subtle orthodontic solution.

Ceramic Braces
Unlike other options, ceramic braces are often smoother and gentler on the gums and cheeks, offering enhanced comfort throughout treatment. With proper care, they are also highly resistant to staining, allowing them to maintain a clean and polished appearance over time. This makes them especially appealing to patients who want a balance of aesthetics and performance without compromising on comfort or hygiene.
Same Braces. Different Look
AESTHETIC
They blend in with the natural tooth color, making them far less noticeable than traditional metal braces
DURABILITY
While ceramic braces are durable, they may be more prone to chipping or fracturing compared to metal braces.
MAINTENANCE
Ceramic braces require regular cleaning to prevent staining or discoloration, particularly around the brackets and elastic bands.
Who is it for?
Clear braces are a great option for teens and adults who want the strength of traditional braces with a more discreet appearance. They’re ideal for patients who need comprehensive orthodontic treatment but prefer a less noticeable alternative to metal braces. Clear braces blend in with your natural tooth color, making them a popular choice for those who want their treatment to feel a little more subtle.
What do I expect?
Clear braces work just like metal braces, using brackets and wires to gently move your teeth into place. The main difference is that the brackets are made of ceramic or tooth-colored materials for a more natural look. You’ll come in every 6 to 8 weeks for adjustments, and the overall treatment time is similar — usually between 18 and 30 months, depending on your smile goals.
How about the nickel allergy?
For patients with a known nickel allergy or sensitivity, traditional metal braces can sometimes cause irritation or discomfort, since many stainless steel alloys contain nickel. Clear braces offer a great alternative. Made from ceramic or other non-metallic materials, clear brackets are biocompatible and significantly lower the risk of allergic reactions.
Will braces make my teeth worse before they get better?
It’s normal for teeth to look a little more uneven at the beginning of treatment. Braces are working to free up crowded teeth and move them into better alignment, which can make things look slightly worse before major improvements happen. This is a temporary and expected part of the process. As treatment progresses, your teeth will steadily straighten into their final, healthy positions.
